Allow us to reintroduce ourselves: Africa Podfest, is an African podcasting company led by two women, Josephine Karianjahi and Melissa Mbugua. In its third year running now, the Kenyan company is making great strides in the global podcasting community. Research forms the main backbone of the company, coupled with a focus on bringing underrepresented voices to the centre through podcasting, and sharing knowledge through gatherings across Africa and the African diaspora.

Discovery Tour: Data Edition (Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa)
April 2022 at Africa Podfest features the Discovery Tour: Data Edition. Together with Baraza Media Lab, we are expanding our collective knowledge of the African podcast and the Africa podcast listenership through the Discovery Tour: Data Edition focused on Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
Africa Podfest embarked on a tour of several African podcast hubs from September to January 2022. These stops included Kenya, Nigeria,and South Africa. As we spent time listening to select African podcasters in these countries we identified a missing piece of the African podcasting data puzzle - mapping of podcast listeners in all three countries. Together with Baraza Media Lab, with whom we released Is This Mic On? (2021) - we are continuing data exploration of African podcasting
Our Ask: Please complete this form and ask African podcasters and podcast listeners you know who are based in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa to join us in building a more informed approach to podcasting across Africa by completing this brief survey.
